The big question: How much to feed puppies? A good general rule of thumb is to feed based on weight: 1 cc per ounce of body weight every 3 hours.
For example, a 9 oz puppy would receive 9 ccs (or mls) every 3 hours. Remember that this should be adjusted depending on how much milk they are also receiving from the dam. As this can be hard to determine, the best way to assess whether or not they're receiving enough is to WEIGH puppies twice daily.
How much weight should they gain per day in the first week? At least 1/4 oz per day. Anything less than that, you should probably be increasing the amount supplemented. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions about your particular litter - we're here to help!
